As we wrap up the 2021 year at the PRC, we are looking back on some of the projects completed. Getting Around to Feed Ourselves Well was a research and engagement project funded by the City of Vancouver and the SFU Community Engaged Research Initiative (SFU CERi) which addresses access to transit and food security hubs for low-income communities in Vancouver. The project was connected to the BCPRC’s #AllOnBoard campaign and partnered with Dr. Tammara Soma (Lead Researcher), Assistant Professor, School of Resource and Environmental Management and the Food Systems Lab, Simon Fraser University and Daniel Rajasooriar (Graduate Student Researcher) MRM Candidate, School of Resource and Environmental Management, SFU. Many non profit food hubs in Metro Vancouver were involved in looking at Food justice in metro Vancouver, linking food justice and transit equity & mobility issues.
