Provincial Director
Rowan (she/they) is the provincial director of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition. They are a disabled, white settler living on the unceded lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations. Rowan is a queer chronically ill advocate and organizer working towards poverty eradication alongside marginalized communities across B.C.
Rowan is a rabble-rouser and renter in East Vancouver with her cat Neko. Outside of work, Rowan is learning to roller skate, plays on a queer dodgeball team, and advocates for fair Pharmacare and disability justice as a patient advocate. -
CAN Program Manager
Lama (he/him/his) is a community planner with a passion for social housing, food security, nutrition, and wellness. He is the founding director for Building Bridges with Rwanda, a non-profit organization that promotes Rwanda’s sustainable development projects in Rwanda while engaging local audiences in Canada in understanding the Rwandan development model through dialogue and learning exchange workshops.
A long-time community organizer in the Downtown East End, Lama has worked with several organizations to support Black and Indigenous initiatives to advocate for housing as a human right. In previous years Lama has worked with social justice advocates to build community through leadership and advocacy training. Lama brings a wealth of resources and information to the Community Action Network.

Campaign Manager
Chantelle (she/they) works in solidarity with the people and lands of xʷməθkʷiy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh). They have been a long-time advocate at the intersections of Indigenous sovereignty, anti-violence work, affordable and accessible education, and healing justice. Chantelle holds a Master's degree in Anthropology from Simon Fraser University where she focused on Indigenous-centered practices of co-management of parks. From this balance of grassroots advocacy and academic work, she is grateful to carry experience in anti-oppressive consultation practices as well as community-centered advocacy principles into this role.
When not engaged in social justice work, Chantelle can be found reading, writing poetry, or with her hands in the earth. She is also passionate about baking a nourishing and beautiful loaf of bread each Friday.

Operations & Partnership Manager
Victoria (she/her) is an equity and inclusion collaborator, operations specialist, and anti-racism advocate on the unceded, ancestral, and rightful territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples. Victoria has years of experience facilitating conversations about equity and developing engaging, inclusive educational programs.
Victoria holds an MA in Equity Studies in Education from Simon Fraser University, focused on race relations in international service-learning programs in higher education institutions. Since then, her life’s work has been dedicated to building equitable programs, spaces, and systems. You can find Victoria meandering through Chinatowns in search of the best coconut bun.

Digital Media Manager
Sacia (they/she) gratefully resides on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territory by way of unceded Snuneymuxw territory. They bring a broad experience of working in non-profit, political organizing, and hospitality to this role. Sacia’s work at the PRC includes public communication, design, and logistical support for the team. Beyond working hours, Sacia dabbles in ceramic arts, spends time volunteering their local community orchard, and enjoys getting to know the plants and birds in her neighbourhood.
Sacia holds a BA in Politics and Philosophy (‘16) from Vancouver Island University, is certified in mental health first aid, and is usually laughing in photos.
