The Poverty Free Action Team is a space for everyone to share, learn, and put it all into practice! We meet on the last Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm. The Action Team offers a chance to hear presentations from members of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, engage in discussions and workshops about how to take action, and access resources so YOU can help make change happen!
Next Action Team meeting:
Wednesday, August 30, 2017, 6:30-8:30pm
Location: Room 2205, SFU Woodward’s Building at 149 West Hastings
For new members, please come at 6pm for an introduction and orientation. Call Trish at 604-417-8885 if you have trouble finding it. Light dinner and bus fare provided. Other supports to attend available upon request. Get in touch here!
Action Team members have already organized a series of exciting events, from setting up information tables at forums and festivals to organizing the #rethinkgiving and Poverty Myth Busters campaigns, writing letters to the editor and op-eds (you can read some here, here, and here). There are still many things to accomplish, and with your involvement we’re sure we can make a difference!
