Chew on this! coming this Friday, Oct. 17

Chew on This - Photo 1 - Bag and ContentsChew on this! is a nation-wide campaign, led by the Dignity for all initiative of Canada without Poverty and Citizens for Public Justice. For the second year in a row, the Poverty Reduction Coalition and friends are joining this campaign, and will hit the streets in Vancouver, Richmond and Victoria on Friday, October 17, 2014, to hand out lunch bags with a snack and food for thought: a postcard asking Prime Minister Stephen Harper to establish a national strategy to eradicate poverty in Canada.

Everyone is welcome to join in this fun lunch-hour activity. The details are as follows:

Meet at 11:30 AM at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch (350 West Georgia Street, at Homer). We will hand out lunch bags there and make our way to the corner of Granville and Georgia. The activity runs until 1 PM.

Meet at 12 PM at the Richmond Cultural Centre (7700 Minoru Gate). The activity is organized by the Richmond Poverty Response Committee, Richmond Food Security Society and the Canadian Federation of University Women-Richmond, and will run until 2 PM.

Please contact Peggy Wilmot for details.

Chew on this! is running in 37 cities across Canada this year. You can watch a quick video of the campaign here and find out more about our participation last year here.
