The BC Poverty Reduction Coalition (BCPRC) aims to raise public awareness about poverty in BC and build support for a provincial poverty reduction plan from the government of British Columbia. We are seeking a Communications and Outreach Assistant to support the BCPRC’s ongoing communications and outreach efforts under the direction of the Community Organizer. It involves a mix of strategic communications, youth and community engagement, facilitation, creative services and administration.
Position details: Part-time (2 days/week) unionized position from September 2013 to September 2014. Possibility of contract extension and/or additional hours, fundraising permitting. The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives operates as Secretariat for the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition and the position is coordinated through their BC office.
Salary: Gross salary at 0.4-time for 12 months will be $18,214, plus pro-rated vacation time.
