If Mom can’t afford a wheelchair fee, should she just stay in bed?

Two BC health authorities are planning to bill seniors a monthly fee to use wheelchairs in our public residential care homes – and at least one region plans to ultimately make seniors buy or rent their own wheelchair at a much higher rate. (BC Health Coalition).

We need your urgent help to stop this.

Imagine if you or your loved one were living in a care facility and were unable to get out of your room and go down the hall to the dining room because you can’t afford to buy or rent a wheelchair.

This is no way to treat our elders.

We need a huge public outcry now to stop these plans before they go into effect on September 1st. Click here to demand that Fraser and Vancouver Coastal health authorities scrap the plan to charge seniors for wheelchairs now.
