In a regular meeting of the White Rock Health and Social Committee on March 24th the open letter to BC political parties on poverty reduction was re-circulated. With growing concern regarding poverty in White Rock the committee passed a recommendation to council that they, “communicate the importance of the poverty reduction plan to the leaders of all political parties in British Columbia highlighting the need to provide adequate and accessible income support for the non-employed, improve the earnings and working conditions of those in the low-wage workforce and improve food security for low income individuals and families.”
